      "content": "<p>The short answer is that our platform intertwines submission selection permissions with submissions being enabled (i.e. turning off one turns off the other). In order to keep the competition live on the site we extend the deadline to the new (2nd stage) deadline and then turn off submissions.</p>\n<p>However, the longer answer is that we don't have a good way to allow stage 1 and 2 submissions to peacefully coexist without creating confusion. Right now we are waiting for data to happen, but in a few weeks there will be new data, a new solution file, etc.</p>\n<p>After the 2nd stage is over late submissions should work as normal.</p>",
