"content": "
If I accept the rules that seems to lead to having a binding agreement with an anonymous entity. I have to assert I don't work for this anonymous entity - which unless one is unemployed is hard to be sure! I might also have to deliver solutions to this anonymous entry. The boilerplate rules don't seem to make sense with an anonymous sponsor. Can things please be clarified? I'm guessing if the sponsor needs to remain anonymous then Kaggle instead needs to be entity with which one makes a binding agreement.
",

      "content": "
Thanks for the question, mlearn. I've been in consultation with the Sponsor in order to provide an official answer.
\n
As a matter of practical reply: the sponsor is in fact a small company and their Kaggle competition has wide visibility inside the whole company. So they are confident anyone who is not aware of this project would not be an employee of the company in question. But as a matter of commitment to fair rules, the Sponsor indicates that they will honor a prize to any such rare employee who unknowingly or unwittingly submits the winning entry. (There is no chance that anyone with prior familiarity with this dataset could unknowingly fall into this category.)
\n
Also to clarify, the sponsor won't remain anonymous to the Winners. Just as with Kaggle's normal process for introducing the winning teams & the algorithms -- the winners will be in contact with the Sponsor, and exchange paperwork for Eligibility and Nonexclusive License as a condition to claim the prize and make things official.
",
