  "content": "<p>Hey,</p>\n<p>The problem statement says this:</p>\n<p><em>&quot;You are asked to predict which of the 60 will return (during or after the promotional period) to purchase the same item again.&quot;</em></p>\n<p>However, there is no definition for a promotion period. There is only a promotion date column in the offers and history files.</p>\n\n<p>Also, there is no way to differentiate between</p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.4\">Customers who redeemed the offer and did not repeat</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.4\">Customer who did not redeem the offer</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.4\">The repeater flag only helps me find those who redeemed and then repeated.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.4\">Any thoughts on this?</span></p>\n\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.4\">Thanks,</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.4\">Victor</span></p>",

      "content": "<p>Yeah&nbsp;I think the problem description is pretty clear (http://www.kaggle.com/c/acquire-valued-shoppers-challenge/data)</p>\n<p>100 customers receive an offer for&nbsp;two bottles of water.</p>\n<p>60/100 redeem the offer and buy. 40/100 ignore it. As a result, 60/100 customers are added to &nbsp;train/test data. 40/100 customers are ignored and we never get to see them.</p>\n<p>XX/60 customers come back&nbsp;for&nbsp;more&nbsp;bottles of water. They are flagged in the train data as repeated buyers. The job is to predict who comes back.</p>",
