"content": "# Goal\n\nThe goal of this challenge is to provide a realistic computer vision problem to participants interested in getting hands-on experience in this field. This challenge is the perfect opportunity to face some of the typical steps of a computer vision problem. Working on this case will let you go from theory to practice, learn new things and have fun in the process.\n\n\n# Description\n\nAs you might know, Proximus is actively rolling out fiber across Belgium. This requires the installation of many new devices. While this rollout is happening at a high speed, it is not at the cost of quality. Indeed, as manual quality assessment cannot keep up with the increasing amount of new fiber connections, Proximus turned to computer vision to make sure that every installation is up to our quality standards.\n\nIn this challenge, we focus on the installation of a hardware component called DTP-F. Technicians currently have to take several pictures each time a DTP-F is installed. The requirements listed below must be verified on the picture for a DTP-F installation to be considered as compliant:\n\n1. Presence of 2 fixations screws\n2. Presence of 2 tie-wraps around the cable\n3. Presence of 2 rubbers\n4. Presence of 2 plastic covers\n5. Presence of 2 pieces of foam\n\nYou can find here below an example picture.\n\n![](https://www.googleapis.com/download/storage/v1/b/kaggle-user-content/o/inbox%2F2322250%2F3675db2e2f4712866d660a4d80a9c63e%2Fexample.PNG?generation=1670401199640497&alt=media)\n",

This requires the installation of many new devices. Proximus Ada turned to computer vision to make sure every installation is up to our quality standards. One of the key elements of a new Fiber connection is the DTP-F box, for which the installation must meet strict compliancy rules. Therefore, technicians must take pictures after each installation to verify the presence of key components such as screws or plastic covers. The challenge proposed on Kaggle is to build a model that can help technicians to decide whether their installation is correct or not. \n\n*One account per participant *\n\nYou cannot sign up to Kaggle from multiple accounts and therefore you cannot submit from multiple accounts. \n\n*Team Limits *\n\nThe Participants can enter the Challenge individually or by team. The maximum team size is 10. \n\n*Submission Limits*\n\nThe number of submissions is unlimited. \n\nYou may select up to 2 final submissions for judging. \n\n*Competition Timeline *\n\nCompetition Timeline dates (including Entry Deadline, Final Submission Deadline, Start Date, and Team Merger Deadline, as applicable) are reflected on the competition’s Overview > Timeline page. \n\n*Prizes *\n\nThere are no prizes.
