My assumption is that this means the product fails a QA test before it leaves the manufacturing facility (i.e., internal failure), rather than after leaving the facility and getting to a customer (i.e., external failure).\r\n\r\nHere's what I'm trying to get at, a bit more explicitly:\r\n\r\n 1. Are all of these the exact same product, or might they all be the same product _type_ with perhaps some variation in manufacturing grade?\r\n 2. Are these finished products, or are they sub-assemblies (or components) that go into a finished product?\r\n 3. Did every final finished product (or sub-assembly) receive the same QA test(s)?\r\n 4. Does every \"positive\" represent the same failure? Or is there more than one failure mode, and a positive can represent any of these?\r\n\r\nFinally, I haven't read through all the forum posts yet, so this may have been asked. I'm including it here since it fits with the other questions.\r\n\r\n 5. Did every component get every inspection point along the production line? In other words, in the categorical data, does \"N/A\" mean either (a) there was no defect measured _or_ it wasn't inspected at this point, or (b) it was inspected, but there was no defect found.\r\n\r\nThanks!",
