"content": "
This is a competition to predict the direction of a virtual cursor to a target from electrocorticography (ECoG) neural recordings. The training set consists of the following variables:
\r\n
- signal_tr: voltage readings at 2034.5 Hz. Each row is a new reading and each column is the reading from a particular electrode.
\r\n
- pos_x_tr: the x-component of the unit vector pointing from the current cursor position to the target (this is the prediction label)
\r\n
- pos_y_tr: the y-component of the unit vector pointing from the current cursor position to the target (this is the 2nd prediction label)
\r\n
- timestamps_tr: the timestamps of the voltage samples (2034.5 Hz)
\r\n
- time_sample_tr: the time readings of the cursor at 25 Hz
\r\n
Given the training data, the task is two-fold: 1. Perform spectral estimation on the voltage reading to derive meaningful features for predicting pos_x_tr and pos_y_tr. 2. Using these features, determine the best way to predict pos_x_tr and pos_y_tr. An example.m file for performing both of these tasks can be found in the data tab.
\r\n
Acknowledgements
\r\n
We thank NSF grant EFRI-1137211.
",
