# Dataset Description

### **Data Description**

The dataset for this competition consists of images of **cats** and **dogs**.
Your task is to build a model that can correctly identify whether a given image is a **dog (1)** or a **cat (0)**.

No labels are provided in the dataset — participants must train their own models and generate predictions.
Your submissions will be evaluated against hidden ground truth labels.

---

## **Files**

* **data/** — contains all unlabeled images used for both training and testing.
  Each file is named as an integer, e.g., `0.jpg`, `1.jpg`, `2.jpg`, etc.
  The images are mixed; there are no separate folders for cats or dogs.

* **sample_submission.csv** — a sample file showing the required submission format.

---

## **Columns**

* **`img`** — the image filename (integer only, without `.jpg` extension).
  Example: `0` corresponds to `0.jpg`.

* **`is_dog`** — your model’s prediction:

  * `1` → Dog
  * `0` → Cat

---

## **Example**

A correct submission file should look like this:

```
img,is_dog
0,0
1,1
2,1
3,0
```

---

## **Summary**

**What you’re predicting:**
Whether each image contains a dog (`1`) or a cat (`0`).

**Data format:**

* Input: JPEG images (`.jpg`) of cats and dogs
* Output: A CSV file with predictions in the format shown above
