Look like you were right. Lam and Guillaume teamed up! There is someone who also jumped high up in a few submissions (although not 2nd place high) who appears to be closely connected to both Lam and Guillamume. I wonder if he will team up with them too.

I don’t understand why you mention scam. If you think it is possible to work together and submit separately than you don’t know Kaggle well. They are very good at detecting these kind of things.
