"3221133": "Hey, there! \nI tried visualizing hand trajectories reconstructed from accelerometer data. These 3D plots break down the motion phases of each gesture into:\n\n🟦 Hand at target location (still/resting)\n\n🟧 Performs gesture\n\n🟩 Relaxes or moves hand to target\n\nNote: You can find the dataset of all 8151 3D trajectory visualization images here : https://www.kaggle.com/datasets/ahsuna123/3d-trajectory-of-gestures-visualization\n\nHere’s what each plot tells us — and why I think visual analysis should be your first step before any modeling begins.\n\n\n![](https://www.googleapis.com/download/storage/v1/b/kaggle-forum-message-attachments/o/inbox%2F2875376%2Ff4defb91cc32ce65fd1bc9720bb3e520%2FScreen%20Shot%202025-06-10%20at%205.57.55%20PM.png?generation=1749559363640132&alt=media)\n\nPlot 1: SEQ_000007 - Cheek - pinch skin - Seated\n▶ Motion Profile:\nStarts with the hand relaxing into the target position (🟩).\n\nA large, continuous gesture is performed (🟧) in an upward sweep.\n\nEnds with a short \"hold\" phase (🟦) at a final location - indicating pinching the cheek.\n\nThis user seems confident and fluid. The gesture occupies a long trajectory across all 3 axes, especially Z (upward).\n\n📌 Note:\nThe plot indicates the trajectory of a single, decisive motion.\n\n\n![](https://www.googleapis.com/download/storage/v1/b/kaggle-forum-message-attachments/o/inbox%2F2875376%2Fa72e1f67c5b6fe6edbdb2373c3bfe8e8%2FScreen%20Shot%202025-06-10%20at%205.58.35%20PM.png?generation=1749559375619425&alt=media)\n\nPlot 2: SEQ_000013 - Cheek - pinch skin - Lie on Side\n▶ Motion Profile:\nGesture phase (🟧) is much shorter and closer to the center.\n\nRelaxation back to origin (🟩) is smoother and slower than the gesture.\n\nThe entire gesture seems to dip downward in Z-axis.\n\nMore subtle.\n\nContrast with Plot 1:\nThis is shorter, compact, and lower-energy. User behavior looks very different though the gesture is same. \n\n![](https://www.googleapis.com/download/storage/v1/b/kaggle-forum-message-attachments/o/inbox%2F2875376%2Fa2efb59ec84f870791736f2b3a0b0720%2FScreen%20Shot%202025-06-10%20at%205.59.06%20PM.png?generation=1749559394346619&alt=media)\n\nPlot 3: SEQ_000058 - Eyebrow - pull hair\n▶ Motion Profile:\nGesture (🟧) happens early and arcs upward.\n\nThe \"target position\" (🟦) follows the gesture — not preceding it like in others.\n\nUser then relaxes or resets (🟩) with a long hand movement.\n\nThis sequence flips the usual “move ➝ gesture ➝ rest” order.\nCould be indicative of shifting posture.\n\n![](https://www.googleapis.com/download/storage/v1/b/kaggle-forum-message-attachments/o/inbox%2F2875376%2F8af48d40db3485ce057c69f2b29ffa07%2FScreen%20Shot%202025-06-10%20at%205.59.52%20PM.png?generation=1749559406960905&alt=media)\n\nPlot 4: SEQ_000113 - Wave Hello\n▶ Motion Profile:\nVery large gesture motion (🟧) across X and Z.\n\nGesture happens after a long movement toward the target (🟩).\n\nHand finally rests (🟦).\n\nThis gesture is vertical and energetic — with strong upward component.\n\nContrast with Plot 3:\nThe structure here is more linear and modular: move ➝ gesture ➝ rest. The user eturns to a final pose.\n\n![](https://www.googleapis.com/download/storage/v1/b/kaggle-forum-message-attachments/o/inbox%2F2875376%2Fc55efa3aa55aa52552901057889844fd%2FScreen%20Shot%202025-06-10%20at%206.00.24%20PM.png?generation=1749559419400463&alt=media)\n\nPlot 5: SEQ_000237 - Forehead - pull hairline\n▶ Motion Profile:\nInitial relaxation/movement (🟩) is smooth and sideways.\n\nGesture (🟧) is quick and dips in Z, possibly downward.\n\nFinal position (🟦) is held firmly.\n\nControlled and symmetric. The Z-axis slope is almost linear during the gesture.\n\n\n",
