### The Data: DER Simulator Logs 📊

The dataset provided is derived from the DERSec DER Simulator, a powerful tool designed to emulate interoperable DER devices. This simulator generates highly realistic data, allowing for the comprehensive testing of real-time DER interoperability and electrical behavior scenarios.

The data is an aggregate of measurements, controls, and settings, capturing the cyber-physical state of a simulated DER device.

### Simulator Capabilities Represented in the Data

The 3-phase PV simulations (10 kW and 100 kW) were placed in many operational modes, meaning your features will reflect a wide range of operational parameters. The dataset contains 737 cyber-physical features derived from SunSpec Modbus models of the DER simulator--as defined in this GitHub Repo. The Electrical Control Settings features include various grid-support functions as defined in IEEE 1547-2018, including adjustments to:

- Maximum Power, Reactive Power, and Apparent Power settings.
- Reactive Power Control, Power Factor Control, and settings like WSet and WMaxLimPct.
- Advanced Controls: Parameters for Volt-Var, Volt-Watt, Frequency-Droop, and Watt-Var control curves.

Details of the DER Simulator are provided in the manual. This includes images of many of the control modes for those who are not familiar (e.g., the SunSpec Model 702 Settings).

### Additional Data

This dataset also includes out-of-band data that comes from the PV site. There is an irradiance measurement (DerSimControls[0].Irradiance) from a pyranometer and the phased grid voltages (DerSimControls[0].GridVoltageA, DerSimControls[0].GridVoltageB, DerSimControls[0].GridVoltageC) and frequency (DerSimControls[0].GridFrequency) from a power meter.

### Target Variable: Binary Classification

Your model must predict the true state of the system for a given row of data:

| Target Value | Description |
|--------------|-------------|
| 0 | Good (Normal, IEEE 1547-compliant, and secure operation) |
| 1 | Bad (Anomalous, non-compliant, or cyber-compromised state) |
