"content": "
@Konstantin, Just to clear my previous comment. Train dataset contains evident errors, e.g. a mask in the form of long bar or curious set of masks containing one mask only, where presence of many nuclei is evident. Removing those errors should improve a little bit the quality of the results at any level: local CV, public stage 1 and private stage 2. I can't imagine someone who would prefer a dataset with evident errors over a dataset without them.
\nTrain dataset contains also objects which the annotators did not annotate as nuclei or annotated them by using a mask of strange shape. IMHO, correcting the annotators by adding more masks or separating one mask into many may only accidentally improve the score. Generally, the effect will be the opposite.
\n\n
Reasumming, I would like to use a branch of train dataset without evident technical errors, but I do not want to lose time for cleaning it from the \"corrections\".
",

Hopefully, people can focus on their methodology for the competition itself, and in the future more annotations can be made and then the model will just get better and better.
",

Especially useful for helping to locate the nuclei for brightfield samples in the dataset. \n\n![Data, training and testing pipelines for cell segmentation. ][2]\n\n**Abstract**\n\nDeep Convolutional Neural Networks (DCNN) have recently emerged as superior for many image segmentation tasks. The DCNN performance is however heavily dependent on the availability of large amounts of problem-specific training samples.
