"content": "
Hello Kaggle Team,
\n\n
I know it might be too much to ask since there are a lot of other major competitions going on all the time and organizing any competition, whether it be a featured or a playground one is an arduous job. But nonetheless, I wanted to ask why don't we have a Private Leaderboard for Playground competitions? I feel that the average Kaggler like me, as well as a total newbie, would benefit a lot from it because I believe building solutions that not only perform well on the Public LB, but just as well on the Private LB, is a crucial component of performing well on any Featured Competition. Playground competitions which don't have a Private LB totally take away the very process of learning to validate your model well in a Featured Competition setting. Apart from that, choosing the final 2 submissions in any Featured Competition is process in itself as well, which teaches us to trust our instincts and our Local CV. \nI feel that Playground competitions should offer, in my opinion, as close an environment as a Featured one (without the $$ and the Points) so that we can be better prepared for the next level.
\n\n
I would like the input of my fellow Kagglers on this one, as well as would like to know the views of the Kaggle Team on it.
",
