# Welcome to the NBA Draft Machine Learning Challenge!
In this competition, you'll step into the shoes of a professional basketball scout and use historical NBA draft data to predict how successful newly drafted players will be.

From raw stats to advanced analytics, this dataset contains rich career performance data for NBA players drafted between 1989 and 2021. Your job is to predict the long-term value of recent draft picks — before their careers have fully unfolded.

## Goal:
Use historical data available at the time of the draft (e.g. draft pick, college, pre-draft stats) to predict the Value Over Replacement Player (VORP) — a metric that captures a player's overall career contribution.

You’ll train your models on past drafts and try to accurately estimate the VORP of more recent draftees (2016–2021), whose careers are still in progress.
