"content": "
Emissions fall as China’s coal use drops, European cities shut down and Americans curtail their car obsession to deal with COVID-19 spread. \nAs Chinese factories closed and workers were ordered to stay home after the first discovery of the coronavirus late last year, there were some conditional beneficiaries, at least for a short time: cleaner air and the people who breathe it.
\n\n
New data from the Copernicus Sentinel-5P satellite reveal the decline of air pollution, specifically nitrogen dioxide emissions, over Italy. This reduction is particularly visible in northern Italy which coincides with its nationwide lockdown to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARpxtAKsORw
",
