Did you know there are approximately 369,000 flowering plants discovered around the world in 2016? According to a report titled “State of the World’s Plants”, released by researchers at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, in the United Kingdom, there are around 391,000 species of vascular plants discovered and 94 percent of them are flowering plants. However, in this competition, you are not going to classify all of 369,000 flowering plants, but only 17 of them. You will classify them via their images and you will be working with a dataset consisting of 1,088 labeled images used for training your model and 272 unlabeled images used in this competition to evaluate how well can your model classify flowers. ## Acknowledgements We thank Maria-Elena Nilsback and Andrew Zisserman for providing this dataset.
