"content": "## Competition Description\n\nSynthetic data is becoming a vital tool in modern data science, enabling research, innovation, and product development while preserving privacy. In time-series applications, generating synthetic sequences is especially valuable for domains like finance, healthcare, and IoT, where sensitive real data cannot be openly shared.\n\nIn this challenge, organized by **Genuity** in collaboration with **ETHOS Coding Club, IIT Guwahati**, your task is to build high-quality **synthetic time-series datasets** using our open-source library. The competition is part of ETHOS, IIT Guwahati’s annual coding fest, and is designed to give participants hands-on exposure to cutting-edge generative modeling techniques for tabular and temporal data.\n\n### Problem details\n- You are given a **multivariate time-series dataset** with equally spaced timestamps. \n- A **60% split** of this dataset is provided to you as `real_0.6.csv`. \n- The remaining **40%** is held back by the organizers and the evaluation done on whole dataset.\n- Your objective is to generate a synthetic dataset of 3322 rows and same schema as the training set, using the functions available in the Genuity library.\n\nA combined score will determine the leaderboard ranking. Public leaderboard scores are based on part of the hidden data, while final prizes are awarded based on private leaderboard scores.\n\n### Why this matters\n- **Research relevance:** Learn how synthetic data can safely unlock insights from time-series. \n- **Practical skills:** Work with a production-grade synthetic data library. \n- **Community impact:** Contribute to the growing ecosystem of tools for privacy-preserving data science. \n\n---\n\nBy the end of the competition, participants will not only showcase their ability to generate realistic synthetic time-series but also gain deeper insight into the scientific principles of generative modeling and evaluation.\n",

"content": "Submissions will be evaluated using a composite score that balances data utility, privacy, and realism. Each submission must generate a synthetic dataset with the **same schema and row count** as the provided training data. Files that do not match the required format will be rejected.\n\nThe final score for each submission is computed as the **average of three components**:\n\n1. **Statistical Similarity:** \n Measures how closely the statistical properties of the synthetic dataset align with those of the real data. This includes checks on distributions, correlations, and autocorrelation structures.\n\n2. **Privacy Score:** \n Evaluates the extent to which the synthetic data protects against direct leakage of the original training rows. Higher privacy scores indicate lower risk of memorization or record re-identification.\n\n3. **Detectability Score:** \n Assesses how difficult it is to distinguish between real and synthetic samples. A lower detectability means the synthetic data is more realistic.\n\nThe overall leaderboard ranking is determined by:\n\n$$\nFinal\\ Score = \\frac{Statistical Score+ Privacy\\ Score - Detectability\\ Score}{2}\n$$\n\n---\n\n## Submission File\nSubmissions must be uploaded as a single CSV file with the same columns as `real_0.6.csv`. The file must include:\n\n- **row_id_column_name** — unique identifier for each row from 0-3321.(Should be the first column)\n- **feature columns** — all feature names exactly as in `real_0.6.csv` \n\nThe number of rows in your submission must be exactly 3322.\n\nFiles with missing values, schema mismatches, or incorrect row counts will be disqualified.\n",
