  "content": "<p>Unless I am reading the header wrong, it says we have until Aug 30 to make a 1st submission.  Today is the 24th and it won't allow me to submit saying the competition is closed.</p>",

      "content": "<p>That Aug 30 label is for the <em>final</em> submission deadline, the first submission deadline has passed. Mousing over the blue 1st submission deadline dot shows a date of Aug 23 just above the box which pops up. A little confusing, I admit.</p>",

      "content": "<p>Yup, you can submit immediately* after the competition ends.</p>\n\n<p>(* - assuming the server isn't overloaded ;) )</p>\n\n<p>My general generic tip is to submit <em>anything</em> relatively early on if you think you might compete in the last couple of weeks.  It can be a click+submit script or even the sample submission.</p>\n\n<p>edit2:  Unless you can be n_m and always get into the top 20 with a first submission just before the entrance deadline.  Then always be n_m. :)</p>",
