# I got an error: _Unsupported column date: model {} doesn't support TIMESTAMP data type._
The `date` column is a TIMESTAMP column, which some BigQuery ML models (e.g. `boosted_tree_classifier`, `dnn_classifier`) do not accept. You will need to manually extract out the values you'd like as separate features. 

Here's how to extract various date-time features from a TIMESTAMP column:

CREATE OR REPLACE MODEL bqmlretail.xgb_extract_time
TRANSFORM(
  EXTRACT (dayofweek FROM date) AS dayofweek,
  EXTRACT (day FROM date) as day,
  EXTRACT (month FROM date) as month,
  EXTRACT( hour FROM TIMESTAMP_SECONDS(visitStartTime) ) as hour,
  addedToCart
OPTIONS(
  model_type='boosted_tree_classifier', 
  INPUT_LABEL_COLS=["addedToCart"]) AS
SELECT 
  *
FROM
  `kaggleworkshops.google_analytics_sample_eu.train`
```
